When the Heaven Kissed the Earth

1

We all have our time of tears
When our fears we cannot but shared
Then,it seems no one cares
But Jesus did care.

Worn out and tore apart
With sorrow stored up in our heart
Scorned by enemies and deserted by friends,
Through it all, Jesus did care.

No hope in sight
Fast losing the foresight
Seemingly as though we have lost the fight
But Jesus did win all the time.

Though huge the scars sustained
And the lost hours we can not retained
But out of the blue, He made us the star!
That is because He did care.

In the face of the overwhelming storm
Thinking we would not end the race
But because our case is different
He sets the pace and make us the ace.

2

We have only one hope
Which is the sole anchor for our soul
That in all of these, we’d always be more than conqueror
Because He conquered it all, long ago.

As a result, the case is closed
Devil no longer our host
And here (in His name) we have our boast
For through His cross the heaven kissed the earth!

Romans 8:37 says, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

He Broke the Silence

9

When they picked up the Satan’s assignment, it was conspicuous that they were all out to kill him at the prime stage of his life.

All of their adventures and sinister plans however met with divine obstruction. Like a bird from the snare of the Fowler, he escaped. They thought to themselves, may be our strategies are wrong. This is a big miss! They said with a lamenting voice.

Having escaped all of the fiery darts, he grew up only to be faced with challenges. Having friends with the mindset of brooding upon them for a life-assignment, he thought it will safeguard him.

Little did he know that the enemies were pursuing him silently through one of his chosen friends.

These plots came up after several frantic efforts and attempts to get him killed failed utterly. He was aware of all of these but his life was secured because he must fulfill the whole essence of his existence.

An insider assassin, his friend, matched them with confidence to where he was with other friends while the sky was silent still.

The peeking sign was all that delivered him into their hands. He would have fought for his life but the understanding of time won’t have allowed him to and also for the sake of his other friends.

Arrested, falsely accused, scorned by both the young and old with terrible beatings. He was stripped naked and brutally murdered. Finally given a befitting treatment due to criminals with is blood dropping and dripping on the surface of the dried ground.

Few days later, they discovered that their actions were God’s divined and orchestrated through their ignorance.

The same man that was killed came back to life. The news spread like a gangrene, putting the enemies in disarray.

He was glad spending more days with his friends after which he ascended to where he was from- sitting at the right hand of the Father.

His name is JESUS.

He broke the long, dead silence that existed between God and man through his death on the cross and his Resurrection. He brought the heaven down to us.

“Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him as you yourselves know.

This man was handed over to you by God’s set purpose and foreknowledge and you with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing to him to the cross.

But God did raise him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him. ”

When God is the Last

4

Peter was stirring at the only ripe orange on the tree among her siblings. And with a quest to have it, he picked up stones of different sizes but all to no avail.

Each of the stone only left a tribal mark on the orange in their respective succession. When it seems that won’t work, he picked up a long bamboo tree to plucked it down. He does this repeatedly only to miss the targets. As he engaged himself tirelessly in this adventure, his Father who was sitting on the balcony was amazed as he smiled, seeing the efforts of his boy.

When the frustration has reached the boiling point, he beckoned on his father to be of help. Dad, please, come be of help. He called frustratingly. Okay. His dad moves near still smiling.

Peter, you will do it yourself. I will only be of help. How sir? He asked. This is it, you will mount my shoulder and you will get it plucked yourself. Woah! That is great. His Dad stoop down, he climbed his shoulder, reached his hand without stress to the orange and got it plucked.

5

You see how easy it could be Peter? Yes, sir. But this orange is not admirable again as the former. Yes! It won’t, have you not stoned it? Dangled it with the bamboo tree while trying to do it in your own way? That is the result of all you have done. Had you called on me initially, you would have gotten it so fresh without all of these injuries.

You rely on your strength to get it done and this is all that you have left. Had I know I would have called upon you and not see you as the last resort when all have failed.

Peter, you see, that is what happened when God is the last! God is a vital necessity in life. You don’t see him as the last option when all have failed, instead you must involve him from the start.

Doing it your own way, with your own knowledge will only drain the whole of your energy and you may even end up not getting it. That is why you must depend on him. When He carries you on his shoulder, you will be able to reach your goal.

Hear what the scripture says, “Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your ways prosperous.” God must be the only best ever option and not the alternative or the last when all else failed.

I am grateful sir. Peter replied. I will always set the Lord before me and stop figuring things out of my limited knowledge so as to have the desired result. God bless you my son. His Dad replied.

The Challenge for the Day:

Will you also see God as the last resort or the very beginning and the ending? Hope it won’t be after several failed attempts that is when you will surrender the wheel to Him?

In the very way Peter’s Dad acted, our knowledge of God is to make us responsible. God will carry you, but you must do the plucking!
